The Anthem Film · Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer

The Brem Foundation is a Washington, DC nonprofit working to defeat breast cancer through early detection. We helped them shape a story that carries the power and the reach of that work, built around interviews with patients, advocates, and their founder, Dr. Rachel Brem. The films live on their website, they carry the fundraising year round, and they play at the annual luncheon.

When Harpo brought An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution to ABC, VIVA was the production partner. We designed and constructed the custom scenic, ran studio and field production, and delivered video, lighting, and audio. We also managed production logistics like securing the venue, negotiating contracts, insurance requirements, crewing, and managing the live studio audience. It was the highest-rated show in its time slot, and went on to win a Primetime Emmy for Harpo.

Television Advertising Campaign · Washington Nationals

As the Washington Nationals Agency of Record in their run-up to winning the World Series, VIVA concepted the YOUR PLACE campaign, built on humorous vignettes about why fans actually come to Nationals Park, and it outperformed prior years advertising goals. As part of the campaign, we created hype up game-opener for the ballpark jumbotron, sponsorship content for partners, broadcast TV/radio ads, print/digital collateral, and experiential activations across the season.

Honda Battle of the Bands · HBCU Marching Band Championship

VIVA is production partner for the biggest HBCU band competition in the country, making content before the event: a four part docuseries, a fan voting campaign that pulled in more than 100,000 votes, over 100 graphics, motion, and video assets for social, and a microsite that doubled as the ticketing and messaging hub.  Forty-five thousand people watched live and online.

Docuseries People Watch to the End

EMBARK · Norwegian Cruise Line

When Norwegian Cruise Line came back after a year with its fleet at anchor, they did not run an ad campaign. They let people watch it happen. VIVA produced EMBARK, a five episode docuseries following executives, crew, and small business partners through the return to service, shot under strict COVID protocols and released to the world in April 2021. Unscripted storytelling earns trust because your audience is watching real people say what is actually happening.

Unscripted does not mean unplanned. We build the story spine first, then get out of the way and let people talk authentically, which matters even more now with AI.

The e-tron Documentary · Audi of America

Our work with Audi started with Audi Progress, a bi-weekly news platform for employees across the dealer network that drew hundreds of thousands of views and an average watch time of 32 minutes an episode. That led to a multi-location documentary following the sustainability and carbon-offset programs behind the launch of the e-tron line, including Audi’s environmental partnerships abroad with Wildlife Works and the Kasigau Corridor REDD+ Project in Kenya, and showing how those investments underwrite the cars themselves and the miles they are driven.
